Software-Developer (Open Source) (m/f) starting July 2008
Job Description
Infoterra Germany (ITD), a subsidiary of EADS Astrium, is looking for a full time software developer to support its GNU/Linux and Zope/ERP5 based open source systems. ITD has implemented an ERP5 based system to handle the commercial operations of the Terrasar-X satellite (TSXX).
The candidate would:
Work as part of the TSX Team to develop, run and maintain the TSXX Commercial Ground Segment , with emphasis on ERP5 (System Administration with HW and SW-Release Update, Backup, System monitoring)
Contribute to the development and to the configuration of ERP5 at ITD.
Assist with ESA Projects on Interface Extensions of ERP
Be a Member of the maintenance team (administration, error analysis and bug fix-ing)(Support Hotline)
Test und Verification of new software releases
Work in close technical coordination with our ERP supplier in France
With a growing number of users all over the world and ever expanding requirements, ITD would like to gain in-house expertise with Zope/ERP5 and other Linux or open source solu-tions.
Experience:
Experience with Development of Open Source Software such as ERP5
Qualifikation:
Degree in Informatics, computer science or related disciplines (e.g. electrical engineer-ing, phsyics)
must have good programming skills
good sense of abstraction
ability to learn quickly how to program complex systems such as Zope or ERP5
ability to fully master dynamic object languages such as Python
ability to work in a team with different nationalities
must accept the challenging responsibilties involved in a mission critical business system and must be capable of using English as daily language at work
Minimal experience in GNU/Linux system administration or ability to speak other languages will also be appreciated.

Sound knowledge of MySQL Databases and Queries
